What would be do without the immense overhead of our physical maintenance? Of necessity we are preoccupied with survival and warm clothes and jobs and raising kids. The world’s demands dictate the bulk of our activities and thoughts.
What if we could comfortably live without shelter and its attendant time consuming chores?
What if we were comfortable in any weather, regardless of clothing?
What if food and water and entertainment were amply abundant without having to pay for them?
What if transportation involved flying as thoughtlessly and effortlessly as birds fly from one destination to another?
What if communication entailed merely focusing thoughts?
What if the best of foods were available for the picking, at hand, everywhere?
What would we do in such an existence requiring no effort at all to survive and be comfortable?
What would we do without the overhead of our present physical condition?
Answering that question reveals what we really want out of life and who we really are under the demands of the world.
What world and what life would we imagine in the absence of demands? If we were suddenly all standing around staring at each other in perfect physical comfort and security, what would we do?
Would it be heaven or hell?
Imagine an existence in which we could eat and savor flavors, but we did not have to eat to survive,
an existence in which we could corporeally interact with the world, but without worry about protection and survival,
an existence in which we had to do nothing, but could do everything,
an existence without fear or pain, an existence of freedom and opportunity.
What would we do?
If we are not reading and learning now, would we read and learn then?
If we are not creating and exploring now, would we create and explore then?
How would we relate to each other in the absence of necessary roles and hierarchies?
If we do not care and listen now would we care and listen then?
If we do not share and give now, would we share and give then?
When the touch of blade and fist no longer existed, would the touch of caress and embrace replace them?
Would we seek new accomplishments and frontiers and personal growth or would we seek entertainment and escape from boredom?
Would we miss death?
Would we eat the Fruit in the Garden again?
